The problems of Scientific Research and Molecular Diagnosis in Africa

Image

A lot of government budgets is directed towards giving citizens a considerable comfort through economic diversification and various economic empowerment programs. This unintentionally leaves a big vacuum of funding in a very important research and diagnostic sectors of the continent.

A few philanthropist, scholarship programs and self-funding students and academic researchers keep the academic research sector afloat, while diagnostic research is being maintained by few foreign grants and medical diagnosis is a luxury for few elites who can afford them within the continent. While various players struggle to meet u with the financial capabilities, the accessibility of the devices and supplies for diagnosis and research become another big issue.

As a result of this challenge, a lot of projects either get stalked, manipulated, delayed cancelled, or downscaled in order to fit in to the available fund as well as accessible instruments, reagents, consumables and supplies, thereby reducing the strength, effectiveness and integrity of the overall data and conclusion from such a project.

While a lot of grants from US, Europe, UK and Asia are targeted to solve the financial problems of research and diagnosis in Africa, we are focusing on putting our expertise in use to reduce the problems attached to accessibility and availability of Instruments, reagents, consumables and other laboratory supplies in Africa. This births our Mission statement.
